My favorite cooking tool 1

I love something cute yet practical.
If it's just cute and not practical, I normally don't purchase it.
Nor if it's just practical and not good design, I won' buy it either.
And this is what I fall in love with recently!

But this is not just cute. Also very practical tool actually.
They are measuring cup which are designed as Russian doll "Matryoshka"

Oranges

Thanks to heavy rain in the last year and strong sunshine in this year, our orange tree has good oranges!!!!!

They are very sweet and juicy!

I will pick some more this weekend again

Needle Felt Earring “Blue Heart”

Today I watched a movie ”Valentine’s Day” on HBO. It was cute movie.
And after that, I went to the supermarket and saw the big section of Valentine’s day chocolate gift.
That reminds me that Valentine’s day is in almost 2 weeks!!! (Wow! I can’t believe that we almost finish the first month of 2011!!!!!)
Here’s my version of Valentine’s Day.
  
The blue hearts are wool felt which I needled to make a shape.
The beads above and below the heart are Swarovski Crystal beads.
I didn’t want to use the ordinary color (such as red and pink) wool for the heart when I was making it. I even don’t know why… I just didn’t feel like it…
Those blue hearts are cute as red or pink hearts, aren’t they!?
Probably black hearts also can be very cool, too!

Make over: Cardigan

Not only making something new from the scratch is the beauty of crafting.
Making over the old stuff of yours and refresh it is also beautiful! That helps saving our environment, too!
Today I would like to introduce one of my make over project.
Originally this cardigan was plain just regular pink V neck cardigan.

It was comfortable one to wear, but unfortunately I got a small hole…

Throwing away my favorite cardigan because of this tiny hole was something wrong to me and I couldn’t do it.
So I put vintage lace on top of it to cover a hole.

This make over save my cardigan, save earth and save my money to buy new one!

Needle Felt Brooch “Three Flowers”

How is your holiday going so far?

Mine is good

Such a gorgeous day, and I didn’t want to stay in the house all day long!!! So, I went for a hike to Fryman Canyon(http://www.modernhiker.com/2009/02/09/hiking-fryman-canyon/)

I saw many pretty wild flowers over there. I was born and rased in the city where is normally covered by snow from November to end of March, I really enjoy this weather, seeing pretty flowers, and wearing T-shirts in january

Here is my way to show some appreciation to those flowers.

Like I wrote in the last posting, my new favorite craft is needle felting.

It looks like this if I wear it.

I used orange, yellow, and right blue felt for flowers and green and yellow felt for leaves.

And put some beeds on top of the flower.

I hope this weather continues all year long!!!!

Happy New Year!

I know it’s already the 3rd day after new year starts, and maybe too late to say “Happy new year!”. But I still want to celebrate a new year’s arrival!!!
My Christmas holiday was soooo awesome!!!! We spent a week in Hawaii!!!
It was warm and sunny (comparing to LA)!!! And of course feeling good by drinking Hawaiian cocktails like “Blue Hawaii” “Maitai” and so on

It was too good to say goodbye…
But we can’t stay away from the reality forever…
So we came back to LA 12/30 and till today, I was just working on my craft project
I didn’t do anything else literally.
Here’s one of what I made.

I made those teardrops from wool felt.

After such a great travel, rainy days in LA makes me depressed a little. So I made this to cheer up myself.

My work will start from tomorrow. I decided to work hard to go back to Hawaii again!!!!!!
